Graduate Fund Accountant

Summary

Fund Accountants submit assigned day to day back office tasks for review to fund products supervisors. Work is conducted in a highly structured team and control environment. Client engagements generally are full service and include responsibilities ranging from general ledger maintenance to financial and investor reporting. Assignments can fall into the quarterly reporting cycle or high paced ad hoc client or investor requests.

As a Graduate Fund Accountant, you will also study towards a recognized professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) and be prepared to combine this with the demands of your work role. Full study support will be provided and a tailored development plan will be in place, which provides the opportunity for continued role progression as you work towards your professional qualification.

Essential Functions

This client-facing role requires proactive communication with our clients and colleagues across the organization in Europe and the US.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Bookkeeping fund activity in accounting system and ensuring general ledgers is maintained.
  • Preparing expense, prepayments, and accruals journals.
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly investor reporting, annual statutory reporting (IFRS, US/UK GAAP) and related workpapers.
  • Assisting with industry specific reports, e.g., investor capital account statements, fund metrics, capital activity and those related to specific investor requests.
  • Maintaining compliance with internal control procedures e.g., SOC I / ISAE.
  • Liaison with clients, auditors, and affiliates.
  • Project work and ad-hoc requirements.

Work Environment
This role operates in a modern professional office environment, and routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

This position regularly requires long hours and very occasional weekend work.

Travel
Travel is typically planned and can be periodic to other GPFS offices.

Required Education and Experience

  • Educated to undergraduate degree-level, with a strong academic background.
  • Proficiency with software related products such as Microsoft Excel
